O how I have a love hate relationship with green tea. I love the taste of green tea and all the healthy benefits it packs, but when I drink green tea at night, it will keep me up all night. I know that green tea has this side effect on me and yet sometimes I forget and make me a glass of iced green tea before going to bed. I never got into a deep sleep, so 5 am hit and I was wide awake, very thirsty and hungry. How does one combat this? With a delicious and filling breakfast, black coffee, lots of water, and o yes a 6 mile run with lunges down the street. If I’m up, I’m up, there is no excuse not to get the heart rate up and enjoy the weather outside. Post run I fixed a recovery smoothie and chugged another bottle of water to help combat all that caffeine. Carpe Diem!
