OOO how I would love to have a warm fireplace in my apartment. There is something so cozy and special about a fire during the cold weathered months. : )

Yesterday I ran the Marine Corp 10K and had a blast! The course started at the Smithsonian Metro stop on the National Mall and finished in the Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn, VA. Overall I liked the course, but I did not (nor do I think anyone did) like the ice covering the bridges; made for a little slip n’ slide. Mile 5 and 6 seem like a blur now and the last .2 miles was all up hill; good thing I like hills….. I’ve got to tell you, this hill brought back memories from our State XC Championships because the last .2 miles on that course was uphill too. As I was running up the hill seeing the finish line, I heard my brother shout my name. When I crossed the finish line and saw my family waiting for me, all of my thoughts about my time and how I wish I hadn’t started off as fast left my mind. I was just happy they were there and that I could share this moment with them.
Now it’s time to find another race to do. I have got to go back to trail racing though STAT, road racing is fun, but there is something more challenging and runner-high incredible about trail racing.
