Working out this morning…..ehhh not gonna happen. Working out later…..ehhh possible… more than likely. After yesterday’s CrorssFit Foundations class, 6-7 mile excursion all over the city, waiting on 3 different bus rides, carrying 3 heavy heavy bags for 2 hours, etc, etc, etc….I am a little tired this morning and decided to pass on the workout. Instead it is a morning of protein oats with NEW Maranatha Sunflower Seed Butter, coffee, and Rookie Blue (don’t judge) on Hulu :)
Now onto the delicious MaraNatha Sunflower Seed Butter I picked up while at Whole Foods yesterday, this was before bus number two and three (see there is always something amazing about each day). I was running low on peanut butter and I have been reading a lot about sunflower butter in my crossfit and paleo research and found that sunflower seed butter is a very nice substitute. I also found that peanuts are actually not a nut, but a legume and legumes are a no no when it comes to paleo. Now I am not 100% paleo, but I do think it is pretty spot on with its overall health benefits, so why not switch to sunflower seed butter!
So far, I am a fan of the new nut butter! MaraNatha lightly roasts the sunflower seed, grinds them to perfection and adds a dash of sea salt giving the nut butter a tasty flavor. MaraNatha Sunflower seed butter has no added sugars (yipeee) or preservatives (double yipee) and 9g of protein per serving. It is also rich in unsaturated fats, gluten free, and is an excellent source vitamins and minerals like Vitamin E and Manganese.
It looks like the start of a new nut butter friendship!
